List of Best Steak in Augusta, GA
Here is a list of my favorite, prime steakhouses with great service in the Augusta area!

1. Abel Brown Southern Kitchen & Oyster Bar
In addition to their oysters and fresh seafood, Abel Brown Southern Kitchen & Oyster Bar has some of the best steak in the CSRA.
Served with arugula, red sherry vinaigrette, and red onion jam, their Southern River Farms Ribeye is sourced from Châtel Farms in Reidsville, Georgia, which states that their cattle are entirely hormone and antibiotic free.
Additionally, some of their other popular entreés include shrimp & grits and bacon-crusted salmon. Expect Abel Brown to have 2-3 specials per course – these are some of the best items to try, as they are chosen based on what is in season and available fresh.
Location: Surrey Center, 491 Highland Ave, Augusta, GA 30909
2. Beck’s
Beck’s is another strong choice for those looking for Augusta’s best steaks. Their menu offers an 8 oz. filet mignon that is served with a mushroom onion veal reduction, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. Like Abel Brown, they have an amazing seasonal selection too!
This restaurant describes itself as “casual fine dining” and guests agree that this is the place to go when you want excellent food with a relaxed atmosphere.
Location: 2111 Kings Way, Augusta, GA 30904
3. Cadwalladers Cafe
Opened in 1987, Cadwalladers is known around Augusta for fine wine and food (including hand-cut steaks). Their menu changes weekly to ensure that guests are offered the best food with local ingredients.
Cadwalladers typically has two steak choices:
- a filet mignon with roasted sweet onion bourbon cream sauce, veal porterhouse with cabernet wild sauteed mushrooms
- bison ribeye option with a red wine jus
Also, guests can always count on a soup du jour at Cadwalladers. Some favorites include the creamy tomato bisque and lobster bisque.
Cadwallers offers curbside pickup as well if you would rather create a fine-dining experience at home, without the cooking. Be sure to order at least two hours in advance, though, as the restaurant will need to plan ahead.
Location: 106 Davis Rd, Martinez, GA 30907
4. Chop House
The Chop House is a regional chain with locations in Georgia, Tennessee, and Ohio. The Augusta location is near the mall off Wrightsboro Road and offers over six different hand-cut steaks. There is also an option USDA prime steaks at market price. The prices are mid-range, with the cheapest steak plate at $22.
All in all, a steakhouse with some great options! And for those who don’t like steaks, choose from the chicken breast, beyond burger with cheddar cheese, salads, and more!
Location: 3450 Wrightsboro Rd, Augusta, GA 30909
5. Cork & Flame
Cork & Flame in Evans, GA has outstanding gourmet dishes and provides an excellent fine dining experience! The times I’ve been here, we always had great service and the dining room was immaculate!
Two signature, juicy steaks with bold flavors are normally a part of their menu, but it changes based on the seasonality.
- ribeye with a cherry mustard seed marmalade
- filet mignon with béarnaise.
Don’t forget to check out their wine market, located at the front of the restaurant. You can grab bottles to go, or stay for their weekly wine tastings every Friday and Saturday!
Location: 4414 Evans to Locks Rd, Evans, GA 30809
6. Edgar’s Grille
Edgar’s Grille is just down the road from the Masters and is perfect for a steak dinner! Normally, they have four, hand-cut steak options, along with four delicious sauces:
- House-made steak sauce
- Green peppercorn cream
- Beurre blanc
- Cabernet au jus
Edgar’s Grille is named after the founder of Goodwill Industries, Rev. Edgar J. Helms.
Edgar’s Grille is unlike any other restaurant in the Augusta area because a portion of every dollar you spend goes toward education programs, including support for Helms College.
In addition, Helms College culinary students receive experiential learning opportunities through service at Edgar’s Grille. Named for Edgar Helms, founder of Goodwill Industries, Edgar’s offers discriminating diners here in Augusta a true “win-win” situation. You get to enjoy creative cuisine and delectable desserts and also enjoy that warm feeling inside that comes from helping others.

7. Finch & Fifth
Finch & Fifth is an American Bistro that is located in Surrey Center and close to the Augusta National. Their menu is seasonal and uses locally sourced ingredients, with a focus on southern dining.
One recent steak is the “Surf and Turf – 6 oz. Angus beef Filet of tenderloin, three jumbo scallops over crispy hand cut fries, blistered cherry tomatoes, chimichurri and bulgogi sauce, feta cheese.”
Location: 379 Highland Ave, Augusta, GA 30909
8. Frog Hollow Tavern
Frog Hollow has been one of my favorite restaurants since it opened. Last time I was there, I got the “Grilled Angus Butcher Steak” and it was cooked perfectly and had bold flavors. The fries and Sauce Bearnaise complemented it very well!
It’s located in downtown Augusta off Broad Street (just make sure to get reservations).
Location: 1282 Broad St, Augusta, GA 30901
9. Manuel’s Bread Café
Manuel’s Bread Café is in Hammond’s Ferry, right across the bridge into North Augusta. With daily specials, some menu staples include the Blue Clay Farm salad, with produce fresh from the farm down the road, and the croque monsieur, a classic French sandwich.
Their steak choices are usually between a New York Strip and Filet. The fresh veggies and rosemary butter that come with it are delcious!
Typically, I like Manuel’s for it brunch – the menu and prices are excellent! Thus, I count it as one of the best brunch spots in Augusta.
Location: 505 Railroad Ave #100, North Augusta, SC 29841
10. Outback Steakhouse
Outback Steakhouse is another good choice and is conveniently located on Washington Road. Along with all the juicy steaks, they have good selection of affordable sides! Their Aussie Cheese Fries are a classic, “topped with Monterey Jack, Cheddar and chopped bacon with house-made ranch dressing.”

13.Texas Roadhouse
Texas Roadhouse finishes out this list as a strong recommendation, given it is the Augusta steakhouse with the most affordable prices and Google reviews (4,000+). A local favorite for good reason – for a little over $12, you get a 6 oz. sirloin steak with two side orders and a basket of rolls. Given the cost of beef at the grocery store, it’s unlikely you could make this meal for cheaper at home.
Check out Texas Roadhouse when you’re in the mood for a good steak meal at an unbeatable price. The full menu can be found here.

Make Your Own
I use a cast iron skillet like this one to get an amazing crust and will then let it finish cooking in the oven. But there are other ways to cook an amazing steak.
