Recently listed in Golf Digest as the 8th best new course of 2020, Old Toccoa Farm Golf is stunning! This 18-hole course was designed by Dan Proctor, Dave Axland, and Bunker Hill.

At Old Toccoa Farm, the zoysia fairway shines against the backdrop of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. And there are 280 feet of elevation changes found on the course.

Playing the full 18 holes will cost between $75 and $95. On-site, there are a host of other recreational activities. You can:

  • walk the forest trails

  • do yoga by the river

For accommodations, there are cabin rentals off-property as well.

Their clubhouse can host up to 100 guests, making it a great location for hosting a special event. The course is fun for beginners, pros, and all levels of play in between.

The Copper Basin Golf Club is across the border in Tennessee. As one of the top courses in the area, it can be a challenge to play with the elevation changes.

Butternut Creek Golf Course

Designed by Denis Griffiths, Butternut Creek Golf Course is located in downtown Blairsville and is one of the best public golf courses around.

Owned and operated by Union County Recreation Department, this course is a short drive from the Chattahoochee National Forest. There are amazing mountain views alongside an 18-hole course, with bent grass greens, Bermuda fairways, and elevation changes throughout the course.

At this public course, 18 holes of golf will cost between $40 and $50, depending on the day. Additionally, there is both a military and senior discount for Monday through Thursday.

After enjoying the natural beauty and steep slopes, there is a Bar & Grill in the community center that serves a menu of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and desserts. Maybe try some pecan pie while looking at the breathtaking views of both the golf course and mountains.
