Breweries
Augusta currently has two breweries – Savannah River Brewing Co. and River Watch Brewery. And we are proud of them! Many restaurants and grocery stores now sell and promote their beers. Be sure to ask about them when you’re out on the town or check out the breweries for yourself!
Savannah River Brewing Co.
This brewery has been packed since it opened its doors in 2017. It’s hard to imagine Augusta without Savannah River Brewing Co. Located in an old warehouse downtown, this brewery allows its guests to watch the brewing process through floor-to-ceiling glass.
The brewery typically offers 9-10 beers, with some rotating seasonally. Check out their website to see the current selection. Once you’ve found the beer you want, be sure to check out their selection of games, including cornhole and giant jenga, and ask about the weekly events such as beer yoga and run club.
River Watch Brewery
River Watch is also located in downtown Augusta in an old warehouse that the owners gutted and almost totally rebuilt. Brey Sloan is one of them and she studied brewing technology at the World Brewing Academy so you know you’re in good hands when you come here!
River Watch offers 3 core brews and about 7 seasonally rotating or experimental brews. You can order your beers by the pint, pitcher, 12 oz glass, or even a flight! They also offer guided tours to educate guests about the brewing process and show how much thought went into this place!

Tap Rooms
There are four tap rooms that have popped up in Augusta, GA in recent years – Arsenal Tap Room & Kitchen, Draft Society, Stillwater, and Stay.Social Tap & Table. Further proof that an appreciation for fine beer continues to grow in Augusta. These are all really laid-back places that attract locals and tourists alike!
Arsenal Tap Room & Kitchen
“The Arsenal,†as locals refer to it, is located in the heart of Summerville, one of Augusta’s historic districts. Not only do they serve delicious gourmet grilled cheese, they also have over 150+ craft beers from around the world, including Savannah River Brewing Co.! View their selection here.
A cool feature of the Arsenal is that they have their beer menu on Untappd, a beer rating app that allows users to rate different beers wherever they are sold. Even if you don’t create an account, you can still see what the beers are rated. You’ve got plenty of options here so find a seat on their gorgeous, plant-filled patio and take a sip!
Draft Society Tap Room
Draft Society Tap Room is the latest addition to the Augusta beer scene, and it has been a hit so far! They describe themselves as “a self-serve craft beer, wine, and kombucha taproom†and have a total of 43 taps that you pour from yourself. Guests scan their wristband, pour the amount they want and are charged by the ounce.
There is never a dull moment at this place! Past events include “Pups ‘n Pints†where guests received 20% off if they brought a pet; a drag variety show to celebrate pride month; open mic night; and beer yoga. Their central location on Broad Street in downtown Augusta makes them a great place to stop in after work, before a show, or while enjoying your weekend!
Stillwater Tap Room
Open since 2003, Stillwater Tap Room has been around the longest on this list! They have 24 revolving taps, as well as cans and bottles of select beers. Stillwater has “tap room†in the name but they are a full-service bar too, so there’s something for everyone. The rocking chairs outside are a great spot for people-watching on Broad Street if you can snag one!
The live music that Stillwater has every week has kept Augusta coming back all these years. They open their arms to new talent and those same groups keep coming back, even when they’ve gained more popularity. Stillwater can really pack in the crowds, which makes for a fun experience!
Stay. Social Tap & Table
Stay. Social Tap & Table is located in Evans, GA at Evans Town Center. This is a great place to grab a drink before a show at the amphitheater across the street or the new performing arts center right behind it. Stay also has live music, trivia, karaoke, and more so you can spend the whole evening there!
This is a self-serve taproom, similar to the format of Draft Society downtown. Guests browse the different taps, which each have the beverage name, brewery/winery and origin, type, price per ounce, ABV & IBU, and a brief description. Then just tap your wristband and pour!
